چکیده
Background: This study aimed to evaluate the neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet (PLR) as diagnostic adjunct tests for early-onset neonatal sepsis (EOS). Methods: prospective cross-sectional included 80 full-term neonates with confirmed EOS healthy newborns. All examinations were done 24 hours after birth. Neonatal (NS) was characterized a positive blood culture symptoms of infection. Positive indicators, including I/T > 0.2, total leukocytes [WBCs] either 5109/L or 15109/L, thrombocytopenia [150,000/mm3], CRP 1 mg/dL, procalcitonin >0.5 ng/mL considered NS. Results: As predictors EOS, sensitivity NLR PLR 67% 70%, their specificity 99% 73%, respectively. Also, predictive value (PPV) 98% 72%, We found weak correlation between platelets sepsis, Strong WBCs moderate among immature counts (I/T ratio), all which significant. Besides, concerning we an inverse lymphocytes sepsis. Conclusions: are important markers (PPV respectively). Moreover, leukocytosis, thrombocytopenia, high c-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin, correlated risk showed more than procalcitonin.

Eosinopenia and Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio as diagnostic tools in neonatal early onset sepsis -a single center observational study
Background and Objective: Neonatal sepsis is associated with high mortality and has a favourable outcome when recognized and treated in a timely manner. In resource-limited settings, there is a need for an affordable test with a short turnaround time for timely diagnosis of sepsis. The aim of this study was to find out the role of eosinopenia and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in screenin...

BACKGROUND To develop new strategies for identifying atopic dermatitis patients, a better understanding of the signs for chronic inflammatory status is needed. This study was designed to investigate whether neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) are related to the severity of atopic dermatitis (AD) assessed by the Scoring Atopic Dermatitis (SCORAD) index. MA...
